Sony on Tuesday expanded the choices for the slim PS3 for the first time in several months by both upping capacities and introducing color. A white 160GB model is the first slim version to go beyond black and comes with a color-matching Dual Shock controller. It should reach Japanese stores July 29 for the equivalent of $341 and will have a similarly-equipped black version.
Upgrading the high-end, a black 320GB model is also due on July 29 and should cost $398. Its feature set isn't changed from the earlier 250GB console.
Although Sony has virtually never shipped a PS3 with a different color, the new capacities completely replace the 120GB and 250GB versions in Japan and strongly hint that a similar change is in store for other countries. American prices are lower and could see a 160GB system cost $299 with a 320GB system costing $349.
