For those who are fascinated with the flying car concepts, here comes the YEE, a flying car conceptualized by Pan Jiazhi, Zhu Wenxi and Lai Zexin from the Department of Industrial Design in School of Mechanical & Automotive Engineering in China. YEE has been designed with an aim to meet the requirements of modern city dwellers. The futuristic car can transforms into a plane when the operation is changed to the flying mode. The transforming process is as easy as it could be. All you need to do is upturn the two front wheels sideways and turn the two back wheels outside.

Lai Zexin, one of the designers, cited…
What we design is a car easy to operate, which precisely satisfy the high-efficiency of the rapid pace of life; the intimate design and the use of new energy best embodies the contest theme: the harmonious coexistence of ‘people-car-nature.
YEE’s two different mobile modes are courtesy of the propeller fixed into the back wheels. On the road, the YEE is one amazing racing car, and when in the flying mode, it’s a real treat for those who want to soar high in the sky.

Moreover, there is a flying station with a solar ceiling, which works both as charging station and a transit depot for the take-offs.

The design lately won the “Gold Award of Best Creative Future” at the First International Concept Car Design Contest, which was held in Beijing.
